All of Nature Sings

Here in Cumbria, the weather has been beautiful today, and I have enjoyed being out in nature.  The grass is green, the birds are singing, and the flowers are blooming.  I don’t know about you, but I find nature so therapeutic!

As I sit in my office this evening, preparing my next poetry book for publication, there is a bird singing merrily outside my window, and the cattle are grazing in the distance.  There is a warm, settled feel to the air.

It feels like the perfect time to be launching my new book into the world!  It is entitled All of Nature Sings, and in it I explore the voices of nature through the countryside, the meditation of stillness in nature, humanity’s perspective, and the creator’s voice, which echoes across the Earth, however we, as individuals, might perceive this.

I am also including beautiful photos from a local nature photographer, whose skill I admire greatly.  Keep your eyes on this space, I hope to release the book in the next few months! Here is a sample of one of the poems...

 Flowers

You planted me in dirt and left me there to rot. But I put my roots into the soil and found the warmth I needed, there.

The storms came to batter me, but I drank of life-giving rain, and with each petal lost, I dreamed of better days.

And soon the sun came and helped me bloom again.

You left me in the soil to rot. But I dazzled you with colour, whether you smiled on me or not.
